Current Studies

Currently, Ken is studying in the Show Production and Touring program at Full Sail University. Ken has already received a Bachelors Degree from Full Sail in the Film program. Ken chose to continue his educational adventure in Show Pro because of his love for production in live events.

Ken is currently taking coursework in:

Sports Broadcast Engineering (SBE)
The Sports Broadcast Engineering Course is designed to introduce students to the exciting world of broadcast production which includes events such as basketball, football, baseball, golf, Olympic games and stock car races. The course highlights the many specific jobs needed for remote location live broadcast events. Students study microphone placement charts to learn the unique techniques of live broadcast production. Each student engineers in a broadcast mix simulator where they mix actual event audio while laying their mix to video.

Show Production Computer-Aided Systems (SPCS)
The SPCS course provides students with training in the analysis of room acoustics. Visualization programs for real time audio analysis are studied. Sound system design, diagnostics interface programs and computer-aided analysis systems are all featured elements of the Show Production Computer-Aided Systems Course.

  • Geeking Out vs. Creating
I’ve been looking for a new mid level HDSLR. So I’ve been reading the internet a lot. There’s a lot to read. One thing that strikes me is that there are tons and tons of videos available on Vimeo and Youtube that compare the features of one video capable DSLR to another, but there are [...]
  • It Figures
Right after I sell my Pentax gear they announce the new K-01 mirrorless body, compatible with all K Mount lenses. Oh, and it has the most advanced video capability of all Pentax cameras. Supposedly complete manual control of shutter and aperture. Full HD 1080p at 30/25/24 fps and 720p at 50/50/30/25/24 fps. Price listed at [...]
  • The Quest: Choosing Canon 60D or Panasonic GH2
I am on a quest. I recently sold off my Pentax gear. After years of using a great kit, I dumped it to buy a mid level DSLR capable of shooting full manual video. I am convinced that Pentax will never consider HDSLR video anything more than a hobby. But what to buy as a [...]

Featured iPhone App

TomTom International.

I downloaded the TomTom iPhone app the other day, and I highly recommend it to all iPhone users who need a good GPS application. It is a great app to add to your iPhone. I plan on using it in addition to the Google Maps app. It is available in the iTunes store for both the iPhone 3G and 3GS. It is a little costly, though. But worth it. I do think it should be an app that is embeded to the orignial OS install of the iPhone, though...

  • Beth Wheatley: Entertainment Supervisor at NBC/ Universal in Hollywood

The Entertainment Business Master's graduate is managing the theme park’s performance groups

Beth Wheatley always knew she’d leave her hometown of Deland, Florida for life in Hollywood. “Sometimes you just know where you belong. I always felt I was out of place in Florida.” So, before she even graduated from Full Sail’s online Entertainment Business Master’s program, Beth hightailed out to L.A. to accept a stage manager job at Universal Hollywood.

Once she graduated, she applied for another position and was promoted to Entertainment Supervisor for Universal. In no time flat, she was helping run the day-to-day operations of all the entertainment venues and shows at the colossal L.A. theme park.

    “I’m in charge of...
