Current Studies

Currently, Ken is studying in the Show Production and Touring program at Full Sail University. Ken has already received a Bachelors Degree from Full Sail in the Film program. Ken chose to continue his educational adventure in Show Pro because of his love for production in live events.

Ken is currently taking coursework in:

Sports Broadcast Engineering (SBE)
The Sports Broadcast Engineering Course is designed to introduce students to the exciting world of broadcast production which includes events such as basketball, football, baseball, golf, Olympic games and stock car races. The course highlights the many specific jobs needed for remote location live broadcast events. Students study microphone placement charts to learn the unique techniques of live broadcast production. Each student engineers in a broadcast mix simulator where they mix actual event audio while laying their mix to video.

Show Production Computer-Aided Systems (SPCS)
The SPCS course provides students with training in the analysis of room acoustics. Visualization programs for real time audio analysis are studied. Sound system design, diagnostics interface programs and computer-aided analysis systems are all featured elements of the Show Production Computer-Aided Systems Course.

  • iPad Commercial
Last night Apple placed a nifty iPad commercial in the Oscars. Scheduled to hit stores April 3rd, with pre orders for wi-fi versions available March 12, there is still not word on when the 3G versions will be available. I am eager to see how the pre orders go.
  • “Tweetup” & NRB
So, at a convention that is primarily about traditional media, I attended my very first “Tweetup”. Conference goers who were using the hashtag #nrb2010 while posting about the convention were invited to a suite rented by one of the exhibitors for a gathering, complete with food. With some amount of trepidation I approached, not knowing [...]
  • Snell & Wilcox Press
A little while ago Snell asked if we would answer some questions about our new Kahuna so they could craft a press piece about our install. we eagerly agreed, because the Kahuna is amazing, and we love it. here are the questions and answers. They will pull from these for their release. I thought it [...]

Featured iPhone App

TomTom International.

I downloaded the TomTom iPhone app the other day, and I highly recommend it to all iPhone users who need a good GPS application. It is a great app to add to your iPhone. I plan on using it in addition to the Google Maps app. It is available in the iTunes store for both the iPhone 3G and 3GS. It is a little costly, though. But worth it. I do think it should be an app that is embeded to the orignial OS install of the iPhone, though...

Click here to download this app from the iTunes store.
